Started a new gig
After a multi-month search, I found a contract gig. I went back to my roots to be a software writer again. I am using C# .NET. I enjoy and like the language. Although I have to admit I was looking for an Elixir position. It has been very difficult to find and Elixir role without having extensive experience. Working with C# is fine, and will do. I had to complete my sabbatical anyway.
This is a full-time contracting position, so I have some room for small part-time gigs that can help me grow my skills on other areas too.
I also enjoy doing my own stuff, which is something I intend to continue.
Games
You may be wondering what happened to my initial idea of becoming an indie game developer. I am still trying to figure a way to get into this. One idea that I can talk more about when it’s done, is to buy an existing game. In fact, I almost there. I am buying an existing game that’s on the iOS Apple Store. It’s small, free, with a few downloads. This means it has some users that love it. The challenge here is to start adding a few features that will make it even more engaging. I also want to figure a way to monetize it.
The transfer hasn’t finished yet, but if you are curious, here’s the game:
Streaming
I started streaming on Twitch, and then posting the videos on my YouTube channel. I stream playing games, programming, and I also do Petros drinks coffee, which is me browsing the Internet and commenting on stuff. Follow me there if you enjoy that kind of stuff. I am not very good yet, and nobody is watching. I don’t talk too much about it, nor do I notify people that I am about to stream. So unless you follow me on those platforms, you won’t be notified. I don’t feel I am producing great content for the time being. Once I feel differently, I might start talking more about it.
Here’s an example of me doing some coding stuff:
Here’s what I am doing
At Workbrew, I help our customers succeed, while working on docs, fixing bugs, and developing internal tools. At Amignosis, I pour my heart and skill into crafting slowly brewed software, one thoughtful line at a time. I am craftsman in a world of complexity and low-quality solutions. I am a shoemaker. I take the time to create simple, timeless software built to last. Check what I am doing now and talk to me.
